Psychology Woes Reported in the Media

As usual, I spent Friday running around trying to fit as much as possible into these ultra-short "Sundays."  As usual, after candle lighting, I sat on the couch flipping through the newspaper and being leisurely.  I usually go straight for the Anglo File page of the English Ha'Aretz and then look at the headlines in the main paper and the weekend supplement.  At which point, I get ready for shul and get there not too late.  (That only works b.c candle lighting in this city is too early.)

This Friday I was thrilled to see the feature article of the weekend supplement magazine.  It involved the clinical psychologists claiming that the Council of Psychologists, the arm of the Ministry of Health, who license and recognize psychologists are a bunch of protectionist, self-preserving snobs.  Since I'm not in the clinical area, I haven't really personally encountered their claims.  But, it all ringed as so plausible and real.  The "Chief Psychologist" who personally rejected me from the Psychologists' Registry presents as a small-minded bureaucrat in her interview responses.  I loved it!  I was gloating and cackling with glee while reading the long article.  Needless to say, I missed the davening part of shul completely.  No worries, I got there in time for the socializing part.

I'm composing a letter to the editor to call awareness to their xenophobic practices of rejecting olim as well.  Their problems are way bigger in scope than the Clinical Council being stuck in the past.  Maybe this rigid body will respond in reaction to the media's criticism.

Shavua tov!

Regarding hyperlinks...

To get a link to, let's say google (www.google.com), you type the following:

<a href="www.google.com">google</a>

Peace out,
