More on Traffic Woes
I could blog daily re: my woes with the mass transit system. But, I won't. Life moves too fast for that. Nonetheless...
This past week while waiting for a bus to show to take me home from work, another gentleman was waiting at the stop with me. He started complaining about the buses and told me that his wife works in mass transit research. According to his wife, the poor bus (Egged) service is attributed to a conspiracy theory in which the city wants the light rail currently being constructed to be perceived as desirable and necessary. As long as they leave the buses lacking, e.g., no times or routes posted at busstops, the public will support and ride the light rail.
Interesting thought. Amusingly, the Jerusalem Post has an article about Jerusalem traffic in this Friday's paper in which they make a very similar argument.
