Retiring my tap shoes. Sigh.
No time to write. It is 11 pm (or 23:00) and I need to finish planning my lesson for tomorrow. Also, the Dean is observing me. Nonetheless, I feel the urge to publicly declare that my tap shoes will be taking an extended vacation.
My tapping era started with eight months of excellent tapping in DC with the best teacher ever and was followed by two years of mediocre instruction in Jerusalem. The most recent year included a poorly-run dance studio in an inconvenient location. Hence, the era has ended. In brief, the teacher is sweet, a great dancer, and not a very good teacher. The studio is disappointingly disorganized. I almost slugged the desk person this evening. Instead, I turned around and went home.
After the summer I will renew my search and look for decent dance in J-m. This is quite a mission. My first search, shortly after my arrival turned up dry. But I have one promising lead and I hope things changed in the interim. I just can't suffer through this tap anymore.
I will write a fuller entry when it is not so late and I don't have to plan a lesson that will be observed... Until then, Doug, Heidi, and all of the excellent staff at Joy of Motion in DC totally rock!! Feeling a little homesick today...
